I would LOVE to keep this topic informational and not turn it into the sole purpose that this topic is created: BECAUSE ALL ABORTION TOPICS END UP WITH PEOPLE ARGUING OVER WHO HAS THE "CORRECT" OPINION.

I'm all for people sharing their opinions, but if you wish to reply to what someone else has said this isn't really the best topic to do it in imo.

pro-choice... if someone is considering having an abortion they're most likely not suitably fitted to care for a child  i.e. to young, unemployed, etc

Plus i think you should be able to have a choice if you want to have a child or not because that can cause some serious psychological damage, and if the government tells you, you  have to keep it you might blame the kid in the future....

I'm a bit of both, I guess.  I support abortion when the woman has been raped or going through with the pregnancy would kill her.  Otherwise I am pro life.

Do you realize that girls who really want to have an abortion will still have the abortion? Banning abortion would be like locking your car. It really only keeps the honest people out.

Here is another surprise. Coat hangars will be around whether abortions are illegal or not. Why not keep it legal and keep the procedure in a sterile environment with educated doctors and nurses. This way the girl doens't kill herself in the process (I'm setting myself up with this last sentence. I know someone is going to argue that because she's killing her baby she should die too.

Yet, I still think that whether an individual has Pro-Life beliefs or not, the option for abortion for ALL women should be there.

Just because you didn't feel like having "safe sex", doesn't mean you can just kill the baby growing inside you resulting from your poor choice.

However, it is completely moronic to say that people that are pro-choice are heartless.  Say there's some poor family that can barely get by with no other relatives to help care for them and their twelve-year-old daughter gets raped and ends up pregnant.  How the hell would they support the kid and why would you put a twelve-year-old through all that in the first place?  It's ridiculous.  They should have the option of abortion.

When people say things like the above quote, it makes me think that they dont quite grasp the situation.  I could be wrong, however, but the reason 'if you dont want a child, dont have sex' is, to put it rather bluntly, stupid.

Sex is something that all species do, in one way or another, and something that has always been done.
Because it is part of life, it has become a general necessity for the majority of the population.  It is only human-invented beliefs that stop people having sex in the streets.

It is part of human nature to want sex.

But in humans, the reasons for people having sex has evolved.  It is no longer something that needs to be done to keep the population thriving.  It is something that is done, to keep relationships alive, something that is done for money..There are all kinds of reasons why people have sex in this day and age, and having sex to have a child doesnt appear to be the main reason.

Also, when people mention things like birth control should be used when people have sex.  Well of course it SHOULD be used.  But whether it IS used or not, it still isnt 100% effective.  And if it is used, and it fails, are the pro-lifers willing to let someone who obviously doesnt want a baby, have one anyway?

Also, when someone is pro-life, do they say that based on what THEY would do, or what is best for the general population of woman who are pregnant and dont want to be?  Do they realise that from the minute of conception, the baby is unwanted? Do they KNOW themselves what it is like to feel UNWANTED?

This is my opinion, and as always, I reserve the right to change it, but it would have to take something pretty big to do that.

To just murder your children simply because you aren't financially stable or you just don't want them, should be a criminal offense.  If you did not wish to have those children, then you could have either not had sex or had your reproductive organs removed.  You made a concious decision to have sex, thus you should be held accountable for the outcome of your choice.
